I had the same problem, and I just got used ones for $200 and sent them out to Elgin's Cams for a performance grind for another $450.
I wasn't aware of resprocketing at that time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

RedS2 sent this message to me when I was searching for a solution for my camshaft replacement.
"Sterling Gee of 928 fame knows how to have the gear replaced. I also believe either Elgin Cams or WebCam can connect you.
Dimitri Elgin has the specs on the cams both for S and S2. I have a pair of S2 cams I can sell for $400 if you really need them.
Used cams run $150-$225 from EASY or Parts Heaven. EASY (510-653-EASY) and Parts Heaven has a web site."
I ended up purchasing camshafts for 900 for the pair. Stock shafts as I wanted to preserve the reliability.
Good luck.
