Turns out I met the PCA mech from Lincoln Trail PCA- he almost guaranted me it was the top o-ring- luckily he has some at home, So I start disassembly of the fuel rail/ injectors tomorrow. I'll do a better inspection of the rail tomorrow when disconnected.
Can the rail be pressure tested in someway??

Isn't pressure maintained even when the engine's not running? It should be pretty easy to find the source with a light and a paper towel, Just dry an area off and look for the leak.

Ah Chris. When he says light he means flashlight, don't use your light that you use for lighting up your smokes.

Good catch Sid, right you are.

It's got to be easier to find the leak while it's pressurized than when it's out of the car.

But you'll have to use the paper trick if you want to do it with a non-running car.

I got 3 injector seal kits today- I'v wrapped up every possible place for fuel leaking with a piece of paper towel- I'll know exactly where she's leaking soon.

Make sure you have good plug wires or if it arcs with fumes, pooof. I bought one a long time ago that burned so hard it melted the left front wheel and wrapped it around the caliper. I don't want to sound redundant but be very careful or your house may be in danger if you are not.

Thanks legoland.- I have always been VERY careful around any fuel smell. maybe you can help me- looks like I need a fuel rail. leaks only while running, not under normal pressurization (when car isnt running). I have spotted a small leak around injector #3 where the rail support is. I cant really see it leak, but begins to get wet and pools fuel at the rearward bottom support.
I suspect a weld has gone bad on the rail itself.

we? cumulative?? SM You need one too?
I did a search in archives as of 01/03- it seems prices range from ~25$ TO 175$ (Ebay vs Dealer pricing..)

I'm gonna call Ian's to see what he charges.

and... would mine be an early or late fuel rail??

Late fuel rail on E-bay.

You need a late one. I just replaced mine about 6 weeks ago. Changing it a lot of fun if you enjoy inhaling gasoline.

May I suggest that you loosen the fittings for the fuel supply and return with the fuel rail still attached to the car, because this gives the most support to the rail.

I paid $75 from Parts Heaven. Advantage was that I got it right away, although it was more than I could have gotten it for on ebay.

Thanks Kevin! I'm not so sure about the e-bay one. It may be bad as well.
I dont mind the smell of 93 Octane- Just the wicked hangover!!
I think I'm gonna replace the fuel lines as well- mine seem to be cracking..

anyone have the P/N's for them? or a suitable solution for fuel line replacement..
