Default 924 gauge upgrade

Hey,

So, I'm in the process of upgrading my early 944 yellow gauges with the 924 gauges.
Ive already purchased a speedo and clock that came out of a 924S. Is there any difference between the look of the 924S gauges and the regular 924 gauges? Do they have the same needle color and everything?

Thanks,

Jared

I'm not sure if there's a difference in look between the 924 and 924S but you should be advised that only the S gauges will swap into the 944, I believe. The regular 924 gauge won't work.

the 924 gauges are different from 924S gauges.

the 924S gauges are the exact same as 944, just different color.

the 924 gauges are an older style and different color, the oil pressure gauge goes to 10 bar instead of 5, the clock is mostly the same.

Was it difficult getting the old gauge pods working with the 3.0L engine? That's really cool.

Not at all.
The Speedo still uses the wheel sensor, so that hasn't changed at all. The only thing that doesn't work anymore is the MPG reading (which always seemed to be off anyway). That will be eliminates with the 924S gauges anyhew.

I've got a '77 924 tach and speedometer in my 924S. The speedo was a direct swap (just don't connect the wires for the MPG gauge), and the tach required three wires to be cut and spade connectors put on them. It's just a 12V positive, a ground, and a signal wire. Pretty easy.

The font of the numbers is slightly different between the 924S and my '77 924 gauges. The color of the needles is probably the same, but my old 924 gauges were faded a bit, so I'm not sure.
