Center Caps wont fit in front
Tom Pultz you are a guru.
I just picked up my car from my wrench today. Here's what was done: Brakes, rotors cut, SS lines, cam tensioner ramp, and most importantly the 16" design 90 wheels were replaced with 17" boxster twists with Michelin Pilot Sports.
Like you said in a much earlier post the front center caps wont clear the grease cap. The caps have 4 little **** that catch the inside rim of the wheel. My crappy looking old caps fit the front since they are a sleve in a sleve.
Here's the question: aside from using my old caps is the spacer my only alternative?
I think i just answered my own question. Does anyone want to trade center caps?
I don't want to start filing the **** on the caps just yet, and dont want to refinish the old caps so the new ones can sit and collect dust.
Thanks in advance again.

Dan
It seems like the inside of the center caps **** are too close to the outside of the grease cap.
The cap sticks out maybe 1/8 in max.
Should I try brute force, push the cap on really hard and see if it squeezes itself in or should i snip a bit off the ends of the ****/square the edge of the tit and maybe file the inside a bit so it fits in the area?
Im not in a rush to destroy a $50 piece of plastic!
Again, TIA
Also, I put in a bid for the koni spring/shock setup I figue i'll gamble a little. I also put a bid in for a set of rear koni's that are located on Long Island (same as me). I'll keep you posted on those too.

No, leave the centercaps alone. I was talking about taking a hammer to the grease cover underneath. It's a big dome and I wonder how much space is between the inside of that cap and the nut. If it's more than 1/8" of an inch, then you can pound down the grease cap, then install the wheels' centercaps afterwards.

Well I got outbid on the shocks & springs, but did get the centercaps on.
Here is what I did:
I snipped the bottom of each tip/tit and used the ol box cutter to widdle a little bevel on the inside. it didn't slip in like the rears because the front of each tit is now flat. once on though it seems to work.
As soon as it is bright enough for the digital camera i got for "free" for buying 4 michelins last year to work i will upload a picture of my dirty red S2 with the boxster twist (not the turbo twists) rims.
