Post Help!!! is this normal

Hello, still no oil pressure. took out the pressure valve and the o-ring was sliced so I looked in where the valve goes and saw what looks like the end is cracked in half. IS this broken or is it supposed to look like a half circle in there?

here is the valve with old o-ring (red)
and here is inside the oil cooler the half cirlcle

thanks for any help...I searched and could not find any info on this...thanks much dan

Thats normal for the pressure reliefe valve socket. But the split O ring is not normal.

I'm sorry I missed any previous posts on this topic, but maybe you can fill me in as to everything you have done up to the point of no oil pressure?

Take Care!

Normal...?

Looks like a crescent shaped piece that's described as missing from the valve housing (bolt) is stuck in the oil cooler housing bore for the PR valve..

I'd remove the cooler, so you can clean those fragments out, and get a new (be careful, get the correct one for your app.) oil pressure relief valve.
Search for alignment procedure for reassembly or post back here...

Cheers

thanks for the info so far...well I put back the pressure relief valve with the black o-ring that was in the photo, and got pressure but then it dropped again and the black o-ring was sliced. I am not using factory o-rings and I think the ones I have are too soft...also I keep hearing "two o-rings" on the pressure relief valve. I know one goes on the tip, but where does the second one go? thanks again for any info...and John I e-mailed you what I did in the past with the car....dan
