Thumbs down UPS Sucks Part Deux

I got my cams earlier this week and when I opened the package last night one of the cam teeth had been broken off...it was just sitting in the cam chain. They were packaged with lots of newspaper and stuff so obviously these things were tossed around quite a bit for a tooth to completely snap off. I've been guaranteed a return to the shipper but UPS offers $100 insurance for all shipping items. The cams cost way more than that...can I b1tch until they pay me that amount to have it TIG welded back on?

I'm starting to think this is a troll.

You would have to have a major forklift stab to bust off a tooth and still have it in the box. If you can't see that when you get the box, ..... well.

I need to take your name down so I don't sell any headlight kits to you. Glass lenses and bulbs don't stand a chance!

If you say so...

On EDIT: I just realized that you probably don't know a 968 has a 16 valve motor requiring two camshafts because you have an 8 valve Turbo S...they were packaged *together* and with my valve cover, which means they probably were tossed around and came together despite the wrapping.

You are right, I have an 8 valve. But how can you get hit hard enough to break off a tooth, which may well be 120,000 psi stuff, without the package showing major damage?

Maybe all my boat and bike chrome molly has filled my head with unreasonable numbers and this is only standard 40,000 psi steel. Still seems plenty strong for an undamaged box shipment.
