6-speed: Any out there that will fit in a 944?
Is there any 6-speed's that will bolt in(or with minor work) a 944?
How about the 911's, can any of those fit in a 944?
If so which one would fit the best?
How about camaro 6-speed T-56(?)?
or anything...

You mean a G50 right. I think a 915 would be a step in the wrong direction. Umm, sure you can do it, but you'll have 5 reverse gears and one forward

It's not a calibration issue. The 968's used a speedo reading off the abs.
Didn't the Viper use a T56 as well?

The 968 tranny can handle a lot of power...I've heard in the 400 hp range unmodified. The speedo will be quite tricky and you'll have to fab something to make it work.

PorscheG96 what the heck happened to your gearbox?
Yes the T56 is in the viper. This is what I want to go with because it is cheap and can handle a ton of tq. The question is what is need to get this to work.

The pinion bearings were going bad in my tranny so I got the thing out of the car before it got trashed. What company makes T56 trannies?

Although the Corvette's Tremec T56 is a rear-mounted unit, its innards are basically the same as this traditional T56 that bolts directly to the engine. One of the strongest transmissions in any car today, the typical T56 can handle upwards of 600 hp in stock trim. The T56 first appeared in production in the '92 Dodge Viper. It has also been used in the GM F-body (Camaro and Firebird) since 1993.
I think I need to get a corvette T56 as it mounts in the rear like a 944 family gearbox.
