Coleco-

I can't remember the name of the guy I talked with at Powehaus II, but he was very helpful- I had to leave a message, but he got back to me fairly soon. We had talked about exchanges etc, and I'm almost positive he said the gears were ~$300/ea (except 1st). Anyway, please let me know how it goes if you really end up doing this, b/c I really want to do likewise- eventually. You may want to ask him about the 968 Turbo trans that was mentioned- I never had thought about that before, and if the gears are a little taller, thn it might be a much better buy- really depends- I've just always liked the idea of custom gears. I'd like one of these cars w/a little over 350HP (or more- mor is almost always better) and gears that redline somewhere in the area of: 1st- 40, 2nd- 65, 3rd- 100, 4th- 135, 5th- 170, 6th- 205. This would keep the lower gears relatively close, but not so close that shifting becomes a irritation, or 1st being so low that you're constantly spinning the tires in normal street driving (more of a concern w/a V8), and the top gears would still be close enough to actually accelarate through them, and go for an optimized top speed. Many variables of course...

Unfortuately, it will be awhile before I can get anything like this. It looks like I've about run out of time and need an engine rebuild. I plan to get a larger turbo, injectors, and chips and am probably just going to leave the bottom end stock. Not sure exactly what route to take, but Jon Milledge used to have some turbo kits for our cars and they included the ijectors, chips, etc- expensive, but probably worth it....
