Default Painting my car velvet red metallic.

How horse power am I looking at gaining here?

On a serious note.... If I take the doors off to paint, is it hard to get them aligned properly again?

Thanks!

Depends on what you consider hard. The most difficult part is dealing w/ the wiring harness in each door. Imo, this the only way to do the job right so there won't be any tape lines in the jambs. Careful when you spray to make sure you're consistant to keep the color match though. For example--don't spray the doors laying down and expect them to match the fenders and quarters.

If you do take the doors off, I'd only spray the inside laying down, then I'd re-install and paint the outside when the rest of the car is painted.

you only gain horsepower if you call a rose a rose. velvet red is really pink. be a man and say your car is going to be pink and you gain 20% hp.

Oh, and what is the sunroof made out of? When I started sanding it, it didn't seem to be metal.

Thanks

velvet red metallic is not pink, with the proper paint fade, it is purple. I get that all the time, "what a cute purple porsche you have". I just grin and say "you're driving a honda".

My 5 year old daughter refers to the (soon to be gone) faded garnet red metallic on mine as "purple pink".
