Man that is funny, why would anyone be that low. Contact Ebay, it isn't worth the effort to mess with this clown.

BTW tsw427, you still have the 1981 delorean? Don't see many of those cars around.

That's interesting for sure. When I first looked at that auction, I thought it was kinda fishy that the main picture had different wheels than the one that shows the back end. That is a pretty obvious misrepresentation right there, but I never dreamed it was this crazy!

The guy is definately looking for a cheap way to pocket $800.00. He requires the "non-refundable" deposit within 48 hrs. and I am sure his address will be a "P.O. Box" somewhere.

Bastard. <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />

I'm on the side of just reporting him, it is not worth it to try and dick around with him, if you just send him a note saying what a jackass he is, well sure it would be funny as hell. But I would prefer he gets caught for fraud.

So tell ebay and get it over with, and of course we can try to fill his email box with as many emails as possible....we could always sign him up for as many list serves as possible (I did that to someone in college and when you get 1000 emails a day it gets quite annoying...).

contact ebay and let ebay notify the proper authorities. for all you know a fed will send the guy his 800. when he goes to pick it up if he doesnt have a 944 or 944 turbo they collar him.

on the other hand anyone here can win the auction and get a vin. when the vin doesnt match the description (turbo) or pictures you dont have to send hom the $$$.

This is pretty unbelievable. I'd vote for notifying ebay. I also noticed that the tail light shot shows two red lights, and the other shots show the standard red/orange. And what's with the exhaust on the picture with the "944" penciled in the license plate? Is that photoshop job???

Hi all, I contacted ebay with the below message:

******************************
Please be aware that this car is not an 1986 or a turbo. I have owned 4 porsche 944s and the interior is clearly that of a car 1985 or older. The ad states that the car is a turbo too in yet that picture under the hood is definelty not one of a turbo. I emailed this person yesterday with these questions and they did not reply. The pictures are actually being used without permission. They belong to a user on the Porsche Rennlist discussion board under the name tsw427. The Porsche community on this board is very concerned about this fraudulent auction and the bidders involved. Please email or call me (678-313-4568) if there is anything else I can do about this.

***************************************

When I went to send it I got a message back saying that the item was already under investigation and was I sure that I wanted to send the message. I went ahead and sent it just to confirm there is something wrong.

I saw screw with him, AND THEN contact eBay. But that's just me. I'm a vigilante.

Note: I would NEVER want anyone to lose 800 bucks over this, but frankly, those people are IDIOTS - they will go on to lose money in a situation like this elsewhere. I already emailed the high bidder twice, informing him of the situation. If you are going to bid on eBay, DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

One other observation about the pictures. The one with the funny license plate also clearly shows Fuchs Alloy wheels, obviously a different car.
