Post Charlotte Dyno Day a wrap up and some pics

Well it was up and down trying to get the people together for a dyno day here in charlotte. But in the end we had 5 cars on the dyno and I think it was well run by the guys a P1 auto (thanks to jack who was running the mustang dyno).

Anyway, if interest comes up again I will try to run another one after a little time and hopefully be able to do discounted rates. We had to pay full shop rates because of the limited number of people.

And here are some pics from the dyno 1/2 day....

Thanks for the pix Ian !! Had a great time. Too bad the Mustang Dyno does'nt produce the same numbers as a Dynojet. My Hp Mustang was 304 at 20psi 93octane. On the Dynojet, 343. Also, torque was about 290 at the best, versus 361 on the Dynojet. I discovered however, that I need Guru Racing to revise my chips again since I'm getting lean as soon as boost hits at 4000 rpm. That is ultimately the information I need. Thanks again!!

Dave,

The mustang dyno is not the one to be on if you want to produce high numbers, but alas, if it helps us dial in a/f then it does what it designed to do. Also using some of the advanced features of it, like hold rmp under different load, ete, you can really dial in a motor....

I know i'm going to use that dyno when ever I make changes because I like the guys who work there, and going to the same dyno time and time again means I can see the hp changes even if they are not as high as what a dyno jet produces....

Good luck with the chips...

David, thanks for providing those numbers. I'm glad you used a Mustang, as that's the only one I have access to. Your 304hp compared to 343hp is almost a perfect 13% difference in measured hp. I've heard that and been using that number but it's nice to see it represented with someone who has also had their car on a dynojet. That makes me finally feel better about my run of 282hp with 288 torque. Looks like it was a blast! Which car had high numbers for the day?

Ian and Dave:

I enjoyed meeting you guys yesterday.

Dave, now I know why I have a hard time keeping you with you 944 turbo guys on the track. You've got alot of torque man!

See you guys next time.

Ski,

Yeah they told us it was around 12 to 13 % different on hp. And as for high numbers of the day, that was David S. I hope if we do this again to have a closer battle at the top there, but Dave just blew everyone away.
