Types of headlight bulbs
I am going out in a bit to buy new headlight bulbs and I was wondering what would be my best bet to buy. The ones I am currently using (sorry, but I do not know the type) are terrible. I need something that lights the road a lot better. The car is an 86 944 NA.

When I had my NA I got the Hella Vision Plus headlight from Performance products at 39.25 per lamp and also got the Piaa super white H-4 bulbs to go inside. Works very nice and you get a really good white light, I wish I would have took them off the car before I sold it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

There are times when I can't sleep at night and I go out to the garage, open the door and turn on my headlights just to see the awesome IceShark upgrade!!!

How easy is the kit to install? I remember reading a few posts about it being kind of difficult for a novice. I am really considering this option, but in the meantime I went ahead and bought two new bulbs for the car and installed them.
The driver's side light went out a couple days ago and last night I was driving in the rain with only the passenger side headlight working, which made driving on the highway kind of interesting. After I installed the driver side light, I noticed that there was a large gap between the nose and the headlight cover. Has anyone encountered this problem while installing a headlight before? I don't know how I could have done it, but I don't think this could have escaped my attention before.
EDIT: The gap I mentioned before is only noticeable when the headlights are down. It is located between the nose (the panel in contact with the Porsche crest) and the headlight cover. It is much larger than the gap between the nose and the other cover.

You can get the H4 bulb kit or the wiring harness also, the harness runs the lights directly from the alternator.
The bulbs are a huge improvement you can run 90/100watt bulbs as opposed to the 55/60 watts you are running now.
The wiring kit makes it even better.
After having them you see how lame the stock ones are.
I think just the lights are around $150

I just ordered a pair of these Sylvania Silverstar bulbs:

They are a sealed-beam replacement for my '87 924s, mine were part number H6024ST.
Supposedly they will "look" whiter, with a 4100K color temperature. I will post pictures when I do the install.
