New Oil Pressure Relief Valve Fails
At the end of last season I installed a new oil pressure relief valve jsut before the rebuild. Now that the car is up and running I found I was stuck with the same oil pressure, 35 psi idle and 50 psi max.
Convinced myself that there was no way it could be a new valve. Checked everything and came up empty.
Bit teh bullet and ordered a new one from EBS, nice folks to deal with, and got it two days later.
I installed it this morning and what do you know, instant oil pressure. Started it up cold and had 75 psi (5+ bar) and 50 psi (3+ bar) hot idle. What a relief. I wasn't too interested in removing the crank pulley since it is set for the Tec3 crank trigger.
Bottom line if the oil pressure isn't right and you have replaced the relief valve you may have a bad one.
