Post steam from tail pipe, blown head gasket?

The car started to run real ruff like two spark plug wires where suddenly cut then at a stop light steam started to pour out from under the hood like it was over heating but the gage indicated it was not. I parked the car and opened the hood to see some steam shooting out from under the exhaust manafold around where the head meets the block but I really could not tell. After the car sat for about 4 hours I started it up and it looked like a steam powered 944 with tons of steam pouring out the tail pipe. Here's the question. Head gasket or what?
