Post A plea from one who DOESN’T have a FAST internet connection – your photo

....are TOO large.

Please all you people out there with broadband connections - there ARE people out here who live in the sticks and have rubbish type SLOW download times.
I really enjoy and find your photo’s educational sometimes - for example the pic’s I downloaded tonight to get the info to remove the front of my S2 to get at the air filter saved me a long struggle. (Incidentally a mechanic, staying with us for a fishing holiday, who looked over my shoulder as I puzzled the position of the front bolts, said “Give it a thump, it probably just clips in at the front.)
The largest file needed after compression doesn’t actually need to be more than 50k. There’s one tonight on a head removal that’s 3.7meg. That would take 25 minutes on my slow connection.
People – me – don’t wanna wait that long to see your works of art – much as we appreciate them.

turn images OFF in your profile, and you can click on the link instead of having to automatically load it.

I think you and maybe one other on here have dial up. I don't think anyone is going to cater to you whims.

I agree with the idea of keeping your pictures small and efficient. The problem is that most people who post don't have the knowledge/skill or programs to compress the pictures. 3.7MB for a picture is WAY TOO MUCH!

compress those suckers!

Photoshop allows you to "Save for Web," and automatically compresses files.

While I understand the pain of a dailup connection speed, the large (but compressed) photos can be really nice.

I think it's common sense to use a link or better yet a thumbnail when sharing images greater than 250K in file size.

Hey Bruce, check out this thread - you'll LOVE it!

"I don't think anyone is going to cater to you whims."

Ahh Bull****, I always use links for just that reason.

Funny storry. Woman at old job sent out an e-mail with a 3meg+ image posted in it company wide. Actually froze outlook throughout the company as 300+ computers tried to suck the image down.

While she was being chastized her boss did a reply to all that included the same image sent out once again to everyone in the company freezing outlook again.

Hey! I have dial-up, it's worth the wait though. I just can't stand the dial-up timeouts, Especially when I'm on AIM. No activity for a few mins, BOOM, you're kicked off. Sucks too!
