Tadi, I'll make the harness up for you myself. I have to do this anyway to see how things go.

I don't have pricing down as everyone has been sending free samples. My guess would be $100 for the 3 sections. And the ground is actually 2 wires. Both are going to be fat #1 AWG.

Damn near broke my back pulling that 500 foot spool out of the deep trunk of a CrownVic. About 200 lbs.

Iceshark,

I'm stupid when it comes to electrics so this may come off as a completely dumb question. Will this address and issues in a car with possible bad grounds. For instance I'm almost convinced that my temp readings are more the result of grounds than actual temps. Either way I'm in for a kit b/c we all know that a fire is much more expensive than your kit.

B/T you AJUSA and adjustable RH Koni's my pcar budget is pretty much spent for the next year. WooooooHooo!

I've been looking forward to getting my cable upgrade. I would also like to get the voltage regulator on my order. I've been through the old threads SO many times and seen nothing but great reviews on everything you've offered. Thanks again.

Arne.

LSU,

It should fix the basic ground problem. I have paid attention to this and will even include a little 3M sanding sponge so you can clean off the bellhousing ground. I tried various methods to clean off and that really did the trick nice so I will settle on it for everyone. The cable that runs over there is also increased to #1 AWG.

I also beefed up the battery to sheet metal ground to #1 gauge. It is way overkill but people will like how it looks so I did it. Then make sure you put silicone grease on the connection interfaces and you will be good for likely longer than you live. I'll buy and include small tubes of grease if people want me to. I can probably get them cheaper than you can, but all these little extra costs are adding up.

Arne, voltage regulator is no problem. Would be a good idea while you are in there.

The costs may be adding up.

But

1. A decent power wire kit is not only worth allot, but in the scheme of things not really exspensive.

2. No price can be put on having all the little doo dads and whats-a-hoosits right there handy when you need to do the job.

IceShark,

Do you have an estimate on when this kit will ship? I would really like to get one soon.

Tabor,

I have you marked down for the negative and positive. My run from the alt to starter has the LittelFuse in it. That bugger is hard to get as it is BIG BOY OEM only. I only have 3 200 amp samples in my hands and there is some sort of shortage with the 175 amp elements that I really want to use for the 944. They also sent me some 150 amp ones, but I think they are too close to normal operating current levels to use. You don't want to be cutting this fuse out to replace on a regular basis.

My guess is everything will shut down on supply until after the first of the year and I still don't know for sure if LittelFuse will actually sell this to me.

The other items are the fiberglass sleeve and terminals. I hope sleeve will come in fine (unusual size) but I'm modifing the terminals, myself. I want a front access hole to solder things up after crimping. No one makes exactly what I want and I have so many samples I will never need duck decoy weights in my life. <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

That is the situation. I want to do this right for everyone and not rush and get junk supplies. It just takes forever and a day once you get between Thanksgiving and New Years.

I didn't mean to make you feel rushed. No rush, I was just looking for an estimate. I guess it all depends on getting your fuse.

Tabor,

Yeah, the fuse is of the most concern to me and I need to be careful how I deal with LittelFuse so I don't make them irritated and have them say "forget it, we don't want to deal with you." There really isn't another product out there that is as nice a solution and this darn thing is patented which probably makes it even more difficult to find an alternative.

On the bright side, last week I found more or less the same cable tie that Porsche used on those firewall studs. And for a lot less than $1.80 each that Porsche wants. I think it may be the same manufacturer as the item looks very similar and the spec sheet I was sent is in German. Why a US distributor is sending me literature in German is .... well nevermind, I can read pictures.

In any event, I put them on my car and they work which is what matters in the end.
