Those are some crazy designed pistons. However, it is always more complicated than just changing the shape to give them valve clearance. By doing so, you also affect how the flame ignites and how thoroughly it burns in the cylinder.

Overall, the 944 does have good handling and balance, but it's the little quirks that get annoying.

Unless Ur swapping or really modernising Ur engine, can u really compeer 20 year old technology 2 up 2 date regardless of brand! Saying a black and white Sony box TV is better than a cheap ars LCD from a super market, 944 is seductive in it styling. Not emblem. 1970 924 is faster then most 944 anyway lol

Ofc the 924 with same engine as the 944 was faster, it was lighter to.
Im not looking to make my 944 go fast, but be as good as new if not alittle better. And when I get some cash bonus im gonna send it in to my local Porsche/Custom cars shop and have them install a supercharger so I get around 230hp (http://www.speedforceracing.com/inde...productID=1029). But that will be in some years and cost around $5500 for the superchargerkit + the work they will need to install it. I know its ALOT of cash for the kit, and I can sell my car and buy a turbo one for that money. I just want my car the way I want it If it mean its gonna cost that is what I will use my cash on. Long live the dream of a one of a kind 944
But for now Its just gonna be overhauled so I get it up and running again, I got alot of 25 years old parts that should have been replaced along time ago. Previus owners did not take care of it. But I will save the baby with my determination.

You know what I’m in the same boat, I’m craving more power, and I much prefer the turbo look, better brakes and suspension, my 944s has 220 bhp suspension and gear box. when I got the car I thought r upgrade in a few years, then within a month was looking at turbo 4 sale every day, but I’ve put nearly 7000 grand in 2 her now. And I still want d turbo look. So I’m goner re spary swap body out. Then once my engine going or in need of it next cash injection goner drop a more powerful engine in.

Sorry? I meant S model comes equipped with d suspension from d 220 bph turbo, but I’m sure the 0-60 run is much better then factory state, which marries up with them spec calculators, however I’m sure Porsche stated them figure 4 a reason? I’m hitting 6.5-6.9 each time with a passenger, but u got 2 hit it right 2 get a good start

gotcha, misread your post and thought you were saying you got 220bhp out of your 944s engine.

I have no hard data yet, but my performace is up at least 10% overall, and 15% down low. My injectors are maxed out meaning (according to their little calculation) that I'm making 200hp. So my 190 is modest
The SDS completely pointless IMHO.

For slightly more, you get four times the features, PC interface and tuning, and loads more. From many other vendors.

Edit: And the other ones support stock sensors too.

So far I cannot speak to the power potential of the NA 944 from personal experience. Reliability on the other hand.....

My 944 has 360,000 miles on it right now. Original engine with good compression on all four, original gear box, second clutch. This car has had five owners, all have kept up with it's maintenance and have driven it hard! 3 of the 5 tracked it. I and it's last owner have not but I know I at least drive it like I stole it and have done so for the past five years. It has carried me thousands of miles in a single shot while being well over the 300,000 mile mark and never given me half the trouble that the cars of my family, friends or customers have.

Show me any other car that at 27 years old can be driven dukes-of-hazard-sideways on a daily basis and give no notable problems apart from conventional old-car problems and I will show you a Porsche.
