Unless the new ones are different than the old ones you shouldn't have any problems, my car came from the factory with 951 Konis. It says so on my shock tower.

Your early 84 has different spindle mounting holes in the front, and different lower mounts in the rear. These won't work without modifications to an early car.

Not only do the mounting holes on the strut/knuckle not line up I remember reading there was a thickness difference.

that's what i needed to know-- the current bid seemed pretty cheap and this set up was one that i was looking at for later development, but if they fit right, i was gonna jump on 'em
