Hood won't close

I made a dumbass decision of the day to drive my car around the block without the hood pins in (this is regarding the 83' 944). I was checking spark plugs and then washed the car. After finishing I decided to drive it around the block and repark and I forgot to put the pins back in. I turn a corner accelerate another 3mph and WHAM hood goes flying in the air! ![surrender](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/surrender.gif)
I got a cracked windshield as a result (needed to be replaced due to a prev rock chip and bad pitting) but it tore the bottom part of the hood shocks out from their ball pins they snap into. I tried re-installing the hood shocks and their respective pins but each time I go to shut the hood the fall out again!
How are these affixiated to the car originally?
Also and most importantly even with the hood shock totally removed the hood swing arms (where the hood bolts to) interfere with the engine compartmemt when closing the hood resulting in a 4" gap from the hood being fully shut down front near the hood emblem.
The part of that swing arm that has the boxed structure hanging off of it is resting down on the car before the hood can close. I have loosened the 4 hood bolts to let the hood somewhat adjust itself and I have tried aligning the hood in a manner that would tilt the front downwards with no success!
Obvioulsy the cars hood shut fine prior to this. The hood is not bent or creased and the swing arms look to be not bent or tweaked either.
Any hints?
TIA!!![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
* If you notice in the pic the boxed piece off the each hood swing arm that is what is resting on the chassis in the engine compartment. This is not my car but a pic of Corleone's I just wanted to show what I was talking about.

Thank you for the replies, I had already turned the corner and was proceeding straight when the hood flew up though.
BTW: the car in the pic is not mine though I wish it was mine, it is Rennlist member Corleone's car. I used the pic to help illustrate those boxed sections on the hood's swing arms.
* Here is a pic of my car that the hood will not shut completely on

I am looking at getting different hood hinges or maybe cutting that boxed section off.
Is there any known adjustment to the hinge where it bolts to the chasssis?

update: got the hood to close via some additional adjustments via the bolts holding the hinge to the chassis.
Nope, not a true 951. The car is a 1983 944 that was converted to turbocharged configuration by Callaway in 1983. The car later had the 951 front fenders and front valence added. The car now has a 951 longblock but still retains the Callaway turbo system except for the 951 intercooler and H2O/meth injection.

I am not sure if the bolts could be unthreaded 13mm or not ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Very sharp 951!! Those FM-10 wheels?
Which brand is the vented nose panel? I have a nose panel off a 924 turbo on my car currently but unfortunately with the 951 fenders and nose there are some ugly gaps between the different curvatures via the varying body parts. To fix it up correctly I would need another vented nose panel designed for a 951 and both head lamp doors for a 951 or 944S2.
