Default X-post: Another clutch question

I have the exhaust, WG, and starter out and have unbolted the TT from the bell housing. I am letting the bolts for the hangers soak overnight. My question: once the hangers are off, do I need to remove the exhaust heat shield? It looks like it will slide back over it, but I wanted to make sure. All that's left after that is the reference sensors and the bell housing and I can get a good look at what went wrong. TIA!

Yes, the heat shields need to come off.

Don't forget to unbolt the shift lever mount from the torque tube (and the exhaust hangers that go around the torque tube).
