and i'm another youngin' 17 year old with a Porsche..i remember buying it...it was an awesome feeling just to drive it..i used to drive hondas, but this car feels like so much more of a car. doesn't feel as "hollow" i guess.

i also have the samething with my engine..it kind of misses a litle bit when i start it up. i can't figure it out either.

what other than tires does your dad sell? i will need new tires soon to pass inpection (not by burning them off so bad but b/c the camber was off and wore off the inside edge of the tire) what brands do you sell?

good luck with the car!

Though I'm not a young'n anymore (34 years old), I bought my 944S2 about a year ago. Makes me feel like I'm 18 when I drive it!

Congrats and have fun!

Be safe,(geez, I probably sound like your father!)

Z-Man,
Yes you are still young. Geez, 34? are you kidding? I'm 47 and didn't know I was considered old until Bones said he was...and he's only 41!

Treiber, Congratualtions on your car. Treat it like it's a brand new car, and it will eventually look like a new one again. Enjoy!

Well I guess I'm the young'n of the crowd here, I'm 15 and my father found a great deal on an '87 944S for me. It's the car I've always wanted. I think it's cool how 944's appeal to people of all ages, whats not to love about them!? (besides maintenance costs)

Hi. Thanks for the greetings. This is a cool place. A few of you were asking what products my dad and I sell. We sell tires, shocks, batteries, wheels, and we can get basically any performance part. We carry most major brands of tires, Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Uniroyal and there are more of course. Thanks for the welcome.

Matt, you are indeed fortunate to be an owner at 18, I've dreamed of Porsche ownership for the last 44 years (born that way) and after a string of VW's (every type ever made), Fiats, Lancias and Audis I came across a mal-treated 951 which was motorless. I've spent the last 8 months of weekends rebuilding just about every mechanical system in it and now get immense satisfaction every time I have an excuse to go somewhere in it! The good news for you is that it's still a thrill to be a Porsche owner at 44 so keep your head on and make sure you're still around to enjoy when you're old like me!

1. I purchased my 944 when I was 16 and I am now 19 and have not wreched it yet.

2. Replace your: distributor cap, distributor rotor, spark plug wires. See if it is still there after that.

Edit- replace your fuel filter while you are at it.
