I am replacing the TT in my 968 with one from a 944, as part of the 8v conversion. I have heard there are differences in the TTs, like hooks or tabs or something. What I really want to know is, which kind is the easiest to install?
While I'm asking, is there any source for the delrin bushings aside from Jager Engineering? I went to a local machine shop with the diagram from Clark's Garage and asked for a quote for 4 and for 20. I don't want to wait forever for them to be made...

The 944s do have big metal hooks- when you do the clutch you have to spin it 180 degrees in order to slide it back out of the pilot bearing.

The early TT's did not have the hooks on rear part of the TT, but rather had a bolt on plate which acted similar. Other than that, they are the same. We have used early's in late cars and vise versa.

So is it a PITA dealing with the late-style hooks/tabs? Sounds like the early style with unboltable tabs is easier to work with?
Yeah, I'm switching to 8v.

I don't think it is, you just have to rotate the torque tube 180 degrees to slide it back if you ever need...not a big deal at all.

I see... that helps me a lot. Thanks Doc.
Alex, I'm making this 968 into a turbo, using an 8v head and all the 951 engine parts. To my great displeasure, this requires switching TTs.
