In lots of for sale threads people cover up their license plates. Why do they do this, when your driving around on the streets people can see them whenever they want.

IMO around town, you can't avoid it, but over the internet, millions of people can view your pictures. And if they're clever enough, they can get all the info they need from your license plate number. I cover it up.

Having been a victim of fraud, I take all the precautions I can.
