I don't get it... you have credit card debt large enough to slow you down from buying more stuff, but your plans are to shred the tranny (a weak spot) and blow the engine?
More power to you if your plan is to build the car up for more power, but needlessly bending your valves (interference engine) seems like such a waste... you could just start by selling the parts you don't want or plan to replace since it sounds like you could use some cash

Good point, Jack. I missed most of that fun - I think they were gone just before I discovered Rennlist.

when i mean rebuild the engine i mean we are going for max HP we can get out of it.

Where are you located?

I would be flabbergasted if you were ever able to post up a dyno on these pages showing anything over 350 rwhp on 92 or 93 octane (no additative) and a sustainable (read low knock count) level of boost (17 or 18lbs).

i never said i had anything with a stock 944 haha. this is the only 944 i have ever owned. BUT i had 3 audis before this. Audi S4 stg III audi A4 APR Stg III and a Audi A4 with a 2.0 and GT3017r putting down way over 500whp. sold the S4 and the GT30 A4 and crashed the APR Stg III A4 now im onto this car.

and by credit card debt i mean for this month. i pay my credit card off in full every month and i dont like too run it up that high. keeps myself out of trouble.

Also when i said i dont know much about the 951 engine i meant i don't know specifics. not that im sitting here looking at the trunk trying ti find it. Every car i owned has never gone too a car shop except too get tuned.

I find this with all car forums everyone automatically assumes that a person that bought a car for the first time is a compete moron and dosent know what hes doing.

No worries - welcome to the board btw

Those are some really cool sounding audis you've owned - had to be a lot of fun to drive.

Guys, just because he doesn't type properly and have a big post count and avatar doesn't mean he can't do what he's saying. God.

It sounds to me like he knows what he's doing. Don't mind some of the naysayers here voodoo.. they tend to think everyone who comes in new to the 944 world and wants to modify them are noobs to everything automotive.

Honestly guys if you blow a timing belt you can fix it for 200-400 dollars if you do the work yourself. It sounds like this guy is more than capable of doing a headgasket.

Anyway, voodoo, just keep in mind it is an interference engine, so the timing belt job is important unless youdon't care if this engine goes out. All it will probably get you is needing new valves or a new head, and if you are doing all this work you are going to be pulling it all anway so who cares.

Also if he has been modding audi's, i'm pretty sure he's aware of expensive parts and probably will be cheaper to play with the 951.

I'm pretty sure it's this comment that sparked some of the listers. I know I read it and was like "ok, we'll see a for sale thread soon for a car with a hole in the block."
