Has anyone installed the Infinity 6422 cfp door speakers? They are 4X6 and require a small bit of cutting on the door to fit. I was wondering if anyone has used a spacer between the speaker and the door?

I have the older 6412's. (not installed yet) And the answer is not really.
You need to space them out like 1/2" to avoid hitting the window rail. Then you have this bulging speaker coming from your door.
If you can get someone to fab up a nice speaker adapter with surround cover, it could work, and look nice. Otherwise, go for a thinner speaker.

Thanks,
I'm going to fab some up this week. I'll post a pic for you.
After closer inspection, i still think we will need to grind away a little of the door housing to address the width.
