Actually Tabor, yeah.

(If I even knew what a RC51 or CBR1100XX are...lawn-mowers maybe? Or possibly mopeds?)

Most importantly it's still FWD, dumbasses making drag cars out of FWD cars

If hondas were RWD you might catch me beeing a ricer EEEEK (no i wouldn't do the ugly mods)

Uh, not with 490 hp on a 1.6 L. Nothing is reliable at those levels. That's over 300 hp/L. Almost 3 times that of the highest hp/L production car. No reliability there, that's strictly a racing engine and racing engines don't last long.

As for the insurance thing I can see the argument but now you've dumped thousands and thousands of dollars into your car and if you wreck it you won't be covered for any of that stuff, they will restore the car to stock condition.

Oh yes we do, that guy is a tool and a dumbass in every sense. FWD drag car = oxy moronism as its best. That car is so maxed out it's not good for anything. That kind of horsepower and that kind of engine are all but useless except for very short straight line blasts. You need a car designed for it to really use that kind of hp

But we criticize car's that are fast, because we are jealous. ADMIT it! So that car wont last long.......what car that runs an 11.2 will last long?

I am NOT jealous of a honda (unless it's an NSX) and a 996 TT or something with a big V8 will last a while running 11.2's if properly cared for!

Not around here they don't. Where the hell are you from? Around here hte cheap ***** know the difference between a 944, a boxster, and a 996.
944's don't justify having a big head about anymore, they are cheap and old now and only a heavily modded 951 is really fast. Yes they are an 80s icon, are fun to drive, and have that Porsche feel but I feel it's rather pathetic to have a big ego over a 944 (hell any car for that matter when you get right down to it) - am I the only one?

CBR1100XX = Lawnmower. Right.

Not that a poster is anything more than marketing hype, but the XX will do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds, tops out around 180mph, and does it with a boatload of grace and stability. It has 135 total hp at the rear wheel, which works out to about 3.8 pounds per horsepower.

Some interesting rough comparison numbers.
Formula 1 cars run around 1.6 lbs/hp, Indy cars are around 2.4 lbs/hp. A stock 951 comes in roughly at 13.1 lbs/hp, and a 996 TT is about 7lbs/hp. Crank out 400 hp in a modified 951 and unless you shed a lot of weight the yield is about 7.25 lbs/hp.

Just today, while riding my CBR1100XX across a twisty mountain pass, I had the pleasure of cranking it up with an agressively driven 964. Once we got mired in the Sunday driver traffic, I got bored and left him behind. BTW, I was heading over the hill to check out a 951 engine rebuild by some of the Norcal listers.

Just for comparison, a true Honda RC45 would make my bike look like a slug on a track.

Love my porsche, truly do, but it's my tame vehicle. If I could figure out a way to get 700 hp at the rear wheels, then I'd have a Porsche that could go toe to toe with my XX

Here's another potential "porsche killer". It also lives in my driveway. It's a 1978 FJ40, commonly known as a Landcruiser. Locking diffs, a straight 6 with gobs of tractor pulling torque, and 4" lift. If I were to blindly back over the 951, this beast would crawl right over it, there're lots of ways to kill a porsche...

Cheers

Steve, man, that's a beautiful '40. I wish I had a digital picture of my FJ60 to share, but aren't they the greatest compliment to a 944? and vice versa?

Anyhow, everybody assumes this guy is making 490 hp. Where's the dyno (and I don't mean Jurassic Park or non-synthetic oil)? This car is such a beautiful testament to why the 951 is the best value in a sportscar.

"Straights are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers."
I guess the rice crowd hasn't figured out how to turn the steering wheel yet, or their mommies just let them play up and down their street: hence the obsession with going fast in a straight line!

And, like it was said before, at then end of the day, it's still a Honduh. Like the other 3,000,000,000 other Honduhs out there at the grocery store, in the commuter lots, and school parking lots.

11.2 1/4 mile? Big deal to me: show me what you can do on the twisties!! BTW: I'd love to see someone drive that delsol and accidentally hit the NOS button through a left hand sweeper!

=Z.

BRB, Thanks for the compliment on the FJ40. I used to live in the desert in south western Utah (Zion NP) and did a lot of rock crawling. The beast was flawless in that terrain. Here in Santa Cruz, it's a bit out of place, although a lifted 4x4 does have an odd style to it. Out of curiousity, how much for the FJ60? Dos it pass smog here in California?

Regarding an FJ40/60 complementing a Porsche, I really like having one of each in the driveway. It reminds me of my tool box. Torque wrenches are in the drawer right above drifts and prybars. Problem with a 490 hp Delsol? I don't know what drawer it would fit into in my tool box...

Cheers,

Steve, It doesn't go in the toolbox, it goes in the little red fireproof container next to the toolbox with the rest ofthe old oily rags.

Or in that weird toolbox on the bottomshelf that holds the tools long-distance relatives think you need to own; like the goofy one-size-fits-all socket, the Taiwanese tin wrench set with the flaking chrome, or any those Bob Villa Sears oddball tools that bend in the real world or loose their edge after a few uses.

Sure 11.2 is fast and I respect that, However Porsche builds cars that are meant to be driven not shot down a runway. Lets see this car take on a real track and drive it hard enough to "Kill a turbo of any model". Not just strap in and push his foot to the floor. That Purple monster wouldn’t make it past the first corner with out meeting the wall with a sudden and life-ending thud!!!

Mr. wall meet Mr. Honda. "Wall" leave me alone your bothering me. Last thought through Mr. Hondas mind. "The bumper is purple too!!!"

Porsche of any turbo model! Passing the purple smudge on the wall on the follow up lap "call the paint crew we have Honda graffiti on the wall at turn one.

LMAO
