Cool 904s were built with fiberglass bodies

Rather than mess with quoting and losing the significance - I have started with a new topic. Someone (Ethan?) indicated that he was near the 904 at Hershey and heard someone say it had a fiberglass body. I'd be very disappointed if it didn't! They were all built that way

They were essentially the test-bed for a number of early racing engine configurations. It also marked one of Porsche's early forays into the use of composite bodies on tubular space frames. A very historically significant car.

Biggest problem with them was keeping the body from coming "unglued" from the metal floorpan. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

I belive the Pics of the 904 from Hershey are a Kit on a 914. The pic that shows the dash gives it away.. 904's had a very low 356 like dash not square.
