Post Air Conditioning Removal: Weight Savings??

Hi to all,

I was wondering if somebody knows how many pounds can one save by removing the air conditioning system on a 944 (NA 86 to be more specific), including compressor, condenser, fully charged, etc.?

I am trying to figure-out if the weigth savings will be significantly for autocrossing.

Thanks a lot in advance.

~41lbs... that does not include the evaporator inside the cabin... I haven't made it that far yet.

Yeah, that's about right. I took all of it out of my car a couple years ago (including the evaporator) and the boxed shipping weight was something like 51 lbs.

Oh yeah, and on the older dashes, when you remove the rotary **** for the A/C, you get a nice place to mount a Autometer A/F meter.
