Default Selling 1984 Porsche 944

Hey guys,

My 944 didn't sell last time, so I'm going one more time, I lowered the reserve to $2,300. Again, I absolutely hate to sell this car, but my wife is pregnant, and I've got 7 cars (and a golf cart) and I feel the need to thin the herd. I also just sold my 81 Trans Am (snif...).

I'm definitely coming back to the 944 group, but I need to organize my finances for the new child first.

I'd so much rather this go to a Rennlister. I know $2,300 seems high, but the entire interior has been redone, and I've replaced nearly everything... plus the motor runs awesome.

Thanks guys....

It was, but I removed it. That was more handiwork by the previous owner. I had to replace the ENTIRE interior because the previous owner didn't like brown, so he spray painted it with flat black spray paint, and then replaced the seats with wall-mart racing seats. I replaced EVERYTHING. I even had a passenger side door panel from England (which is our drivers side door panel) shipped over because I couldn't find a good condition drivers side door panel.

Thanks man, I know... it really kills... but I just have too many cars and I have to wind them down. I know realistically I'm going to have less time, and this car is going to end up suffering for it. I had another car a while back, a 1984 Fiero 2m4 SE. It ran and drove awesome. Paint was perfect, it was showroom quality. In the span of about 4 years... with me driving it maybe once a month, the car became almost complete garbage. The paint began to peel, the entire fuel system had to be replaced, and the rubber between the harmonic balancer went bad.

I ended up giving it away to a friend who dumped like a grand into it. I don't want to see that happen to this Porsche.

Hmmmm, I've been looking for a project along these lines (something I can sink a lot of money into with no hope of ever getting it back). Would you consider taking paypal for the whole thing and maybe a little off the top (if it doesn't make your price on Ebay first of course)? I'm local to you (in Coral Springs) so no issues with shipping/anonymous deals, etc.

Andrew

Hahah... that's funny. Yeah, that was my same thought when I first bought it. Luckily for you... I've already dropped basically $3,500 to $4,000 into it... I don't even remember at this point. Some of the big ticket items were carpet, a door panel shipped from England, all new crank sensors, a brand new chin spoiler... oh man, it makes me sick just thinking about it.

I'm pretty set on getting $2,300 bucks. I don't know if the auction will be met... but man... I bought it for $1,200 and put almost $4,000 into it... ugh... It's ALMOST DONE! It kills me... this car is awesome... I love this car, but I just can't keep it!!!!!

Yeah, I'd be more than happy to accept the entire thing through PayPal. That's actually how I paid for it.

It has a clear Florida title right now too (in my name). It's actually registered and insured right now too... I've been driving it around the past few months.

I think the better question is, how old was the person who owned the car before.

I know what you mean. I spent 4k on my 85 then about another $1500 and then after i had an electrical fire that killed the headlights I sold it for 1500 I think. That sucked. I have talked to the guy who got it and he's got it all fixed now and doesn't sound like it too much money but when I sold it I didn't have the time, space or money.

Hey guys, just thought I'd give an update. The car sold on eBay last week, and the guy came and picked it up this weekend. He drove it all the way to Ohio from Fort Lauderdale. He said the car ran awesome, and averaged about 32 miles to the gallon!
