The "body kit" looked like he had taken off the plastic bumper and spot welded a more rounded bumper in the front. I'm pretty sure it was a Supra front or something. He just put some side running boards over the existing rocker panels - don't know where these came from - but they were all metal. They were even too short, as they didn't make it all the way back. There was about a 6 inch gap that you could see where the newer panels were put on and the old ones ran.

I seriously don't think this kid knows the difference between a 944 and a 911.

Some people (read: morons) probably think that "911" is synonomous with Porsche...that EVERY Porsche is some type of "911."

I was thinking... If I ever decide to sell my car, I might require prospective buyers to fill out some sort of application or pass a Porsche Literacy Test.

It makes me sad & angry to see a P-car disgraced...

I was talking with the guy who sold this car to him at Canadian Tire last nite. I was trying to find a replacement bulb for my fog light and when the parts guy asked what kind of car it was and I said Porsche - he said that there was just someone there who was looking for spark plugs and he also had a Porsche. As we were saying this, said guy spoke up from the end of the isle and asked who wanted to know who had the Porsche. Anywho - this guy is the guy here in Halifax who imports 944's. I called him on one before I bought mine - but all he had was Turbo's with HIGH miles with re-built engines. That car I saw at Wal-mart had a broken speedo - he guessed it had closer to 250,000 Klms. The interior had been re-done by him and he had the engine steam cleaned.

Knowing that, it's not so bad now cause I thought this guy had a low Klms Turbo that he was killing. His dad did buy it for him and his dad has a 914 - not a 911. He paid $6000 Canadian for it - which is really good for a Turbo, but this particular car had the transaxel go in it twice, was in an accident and has some electrical problems from a previous owner doing some handy work under the dash. So, all in all - the kid has a poor example of a 951, so I guess we can let it slip a bit (lol).

It's amazing how much can be wrong with a car, but if it looks good, you never suspect it. I don't know if the seller told this kids dad about all that stuff (I didn't ask) - but I now know not to look for my next car (a Turbo) from this guy!!!

P.S. - when I told the seller guy what the kid had done to this 951, he just said, "Well, it's his car". A Porsche guy this man is not - yet that's mostly what he imports. Sad.
