What would it take for this to be possible?
The braking spec for our cars is woefully outdated. Sub-120 would make me super happy.

Hmm...the S2 does 60-0 in 138 feet. What are some average stopping distances of modern cars now? Im curious for regular cars, and then also for the new 15" ceramics from Porsche and the big brembos on Lambos, etc...

Yes it can be done in much less than, and its very simple,
Hoosiers, and some pagid blacks, or hawk blues.....
Most of the time a car breaking is limited by a couple factors, one of the most important is tire grip.
Its not the only factor, but sticky tires, very aggressive pads and a well controled foot will slow a car down very quickly.
Modern cars have the benifit of ABS though to make anyone an expert at slowing down. But there have been great articles about ABS in different conditions and it was a surprise to see non abs win in certain situations, but of course not all.
Ok, i'm rambling.
But to improve the stopping power of you car, make sure you have no air in your lines, a nice set of pad and rotors, and tires, then go out and enjoy the fun.....

I'm pretty sure with the minor brake upgrades I've done and the tires I have my S2 is doing under 138 feet now. I dunno if its quite under 120 though. The 993TT is what 90 something feet? Pulling like 1.4 negative G's..ahh I love it in my dad's car. The brakes are almost as much fun as the accelleration!

The link below shows "Top 10" stats including braking times. As you can see, 138ft. is not
too good by todays standards. The newer Toyota Camrys are stopping in something like 119-120. :|

the info on Karl's site seems more accurate. the S2/951 brakes are still WAY ahead of what you'll find on most cars today. I drove a Z06 Corvette and it can't seem to stop but a couple feet faster than my car..and those Vette brakes fade, ours don't.
So if on the Corvette they aren't hardly even up to our brakes yet, I don't think a Camry is gonna cut it. Especially not if you try and stop more than once!

I have to agree with Ian here, good pads, fresh rotors, and fresh brake fluid coupled to a good set of tires and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
