Default Replacing Max A/C button

On my 1988 944 the max AC button is broken. It popped out one day and some parts got lost. I've found replacement switches for just that though. Is it possible to just put a new one? Just my initial look over it doesn't seem like the button can actually come out, but I'd be willing to try. It's either this or a new climate control unit.

Pull the brown trim off the front of your climate control and look across the flat bottom part on the inside just behind the clear faceplate.
If it has a row of resistors across the bottom, the A/C switch is soldered to the PC board in the back and a REAL PIA to replace.
If it looks empty (no resistors), the A/C switch just pops in.
It's a bit tricky and helps to have two people. If you buy just the switch and look at it you will see how it is held in with tabs that press against the clear faceplate. Be careful as it is quite easy to break the faceplate.
