Default Fuel filter problem

Hi, I'm changing the fuel filter on my 1986 944 N/A. The old one is a bosch and the new one is a mahle. The thing is the new one doesnt fit one the hoses.

Do I need to change the hoses bolts or something ?

thanks

Are you sure you got the correct filter (maybe they sent the wrong one)? Check the part number on it.

When I did this I had take off the brass fitting that came with the fuel filter and reuse the one from the old filter.

Try some Teflon tape on the threads. Just make sure you don't get any tape inside the outlet end line as it will end up in the injectors. Incidentally, that looks like the correct filter. Maybe you cross-threaded the fitting?
