Default Fuel line broke

Hi peeps

My car is at my local garage being fixed , the reference sensor broke off, and wont start after new ones in place, they think it might be the "oposing" part of the sensor on the flywheel that's causing it.. But anyways:

My starter broke as well, and as the new one was fitted by them, they tried it out.. it worked all right, but at the same time, fuel leaked down from the rear of the car!

Turns out the fuel lines are rusted up pretty bad back there, so I'm looking to buy new ones.. I live in Norway, and I have to give around 300 USD for a new one..But our official Porsche dealership says that the fuel line heading back to the tank is no longer in production?! Im not sure of the correct name for these 2 fuel lines or fuel hoses so it was kinda hard to be sure what I was looking for at pelican..If anyone could link me what I need ill be greatful

It also seems the fuel line is one long pipe, must be a b*tch to replace, not to mention ship them? Or are the aftermarket ones in several pieces?

Oh, and a few pics of it washed (not quite dry yet) with my summer-rims on, before she broke down:

Cheers,

Robert

I have several of these lines but shipping would be a nightmare since the postal service only allows certain lenght on international packages.

Cut them, ship them, then weld them on 'the other side' =)

See if there is a local metal fabricator that can duplicate the lines. The hose barbs under the rubber hose can be substituted with a tube bead, or compression nut, or various connectors. The fuel filter side is a screw on with flare (I think).

yeah, should be able to remove the damaged section and build a new piece. Fuel line is avail per the foot (meter for you silly 'peans) and they come with fittings on them. Only thing to do is make a clean cut of the remaining section of line, install fitting, flare it, and install new line section in it's place.

Love the euro cars, I think I prefer the front better than the 951 and the sides look much cleaner with the small repeater light and no running lights and the rear (non federalized) bumper, perfect!

Also like those wheels, especially the wide lip at the rear - an early offset giveaway.

Great car, thanks for sharing.

Azev A, 10" rear, 8,5" up front

I have only seen those AZEV's on 2 cars; his, and an 87-93 Mustang GT. Both looked amazing on each car.

If the fuel lines have ever been used, do NOT do this....

welding where there may be fuel residue is not a good idea at all and getting all the residue out won't be easy

A better way to do it would probably be to take the old section out, get some stainless tubing of the proper diameter and a tubing bender (not really expensive) and bend a section of tubing to match the factory part. Like others have said, you can get flaring tools and/or compression fittings to integrate the tubing into the factory system

You might be able to find copper fuel line to replace them with, they won't rust again and are easy to bend and route by hand. There seem to be many suppliers of this in Europe, here's one I found with a quick search: Copper Fuel Line Kit

thanks for all the reply's and advice, people It warms my heart to hear all this, considering how irritating it is that is hasnt been running since may.. I'll head over to the garage it's at and have a better look at the fuellines and how bad it is..

Yes, as stated above, they are Azev A 10" rear and 8,5" up front..

As for the interior, the drivers side seat is pretty worn, the seem is torn where the leather meets the "pyschadelic" pasha, so I'm considering these seats as soon as i pay off the garage bill, wich is looking to be around 3k Usd.. (yeah, norway = expencive)

Here are the seats:

Ill post some more pics later today, I'm looking to add a rear diffuser and a larger exaust-tip for a bit more sound..

Talked to my stepdad today, we have a pipe-bender at home (he's a plumber) so he was gonna bring home some chromed kopper pipes for us to bend, saves me approx. 700$ in parts..

Buuuuut, I need the dimension, and a drawing of the lengths, bends, degrees of bends etc.. where can I get this? does anyone have these measurements?

I'd like to pre-fabricate both fuellines so the swap goes as fast as possible

Has anyone swapped the fuel line with a hose instead? Is that a no-no or is it a reliable fix?

Oh, and as I promised.. posted before, a while ago, but still
