I get a lot of looks in my 951. The worst one was when I was in the 951 with my now ex fiance, a totally hot girl in a 944 rolled up next to me at the light and gave me a big smile, next thing I see is my ex giving me that you better watch it buddy look. Now everytime I see that girl in the 944 she is on the other side of the road

I just got my 87 Gaurds Red (with the 928 manhole cover wheels)a week ago, stopped in at the grocery store and the bag boy goes, "those wheels are'nt the normal wheels for a 944 are they"? And I said, "no, they're 928 wheels which were an option." So yes there is still hope for the younger generation, I was fairly impressed that the young man new his stuff.
Oh and yep it's a hard car to walk away from, sometimes I kinda walk backwards.

Last week at the gas station for the first time, this guy showered my car with compliments and I answered all his questions. He couldn't believe the car was 16 years old. It made me love my 944 like 40 times more. My friends think I'm weird when I completely go ape**** whenever I see another 924/944/951/968. Whenever I see one parked, I HAVE to go check it out. And yeah I also have to look at mine least 3 times whenever I walk away from it. ...My name is Ian and I have a Porsche addiction

As far as I remember I've only been asked about my car once, at a gas station. The guy apparently got a run for his money recently from what I presume was a 951 and asked me about them all in general.

My car is definitely a "10 footer" and even so, in 2 years of ownership I have gotten countless compliments from a variety of people. Old people, car guys, girls, kids, gas station attendants. Part of it is geographic; I live in a part of southern NJ which is truck/Mustang country, so people are stunned to actually see a real car.

Never really noticed this until recently when I went to a local Hooters with a friend. She was seated where she could see the car and was commenting on how many people pulling in/out would look it over. Low and behold a gold 944T pulls in and the driver checked it out as well. Didn't get a chance to talk with him (darnit). This was in Springfield, IL about two weeks ago.
Guess buying this car to impress only myself blinded me to its impact on others. It is the best pick-me-up I've ever experienced (whether driving it or just gazing!). Porsche = art

Besides, who goes to Hooters ta look at cars???

I usually open the garage door at night just to look at the car once before I go to sleep.
Am I screwed up or what?

No way man! When i wake up in the morning i open the door to where mine is kept just to stare in awe, even if it has its dust cover on! Its like art, and to me i have the most valuable piece of art! Its my dream car -and i have it. I dont care who thinks what, or how fast anybody else is...i have my ultimate vehicle. (ok ok...i also need a lambo next to it...but even if i dont get one, i will be satisfied with my 944) Once parked in a shady area of town outside a chinese restaurant at like 2am i was waiting outside while a friend used the phone (before we went in to eat) and two asian guys came outside. They didnt realize I owned it and they started giving it the walk, and talking in their language. Every couple words i heard "Porsche" and pointing at the badge, etc... I wish i knew what they were saying! They looked excited though. One other time when i was up at Summit Point, i stopped at that Pizza Hut in Charles Town to get some food to go. As i got back in the car a modded VW swings into the space next to me. Some young dude and his chick. They wanted me to roll down my window and they were totally anxious. All i heard was "man you gotta come next door and show those domestic pieces of crap what a real car is!!!!" Next door was a self-car wash where all the local ricers and mustang/camaro/firebird people hung out and showed their straight line monsters and did burnouts, etc... I just said, "nah i dont do that, but thanks"
