There is a hose that connects to the heater control valve from the engine. This is the hose that you want to cap off. If you need details, drop me a line.

I have an intermittent coolant leak that appears to be from the heater hose that runs behind the head to the drivers side of the motor. Sometimes it leaks just off the core sometimes the other end, last night I saw it drip from the drivers side at the clamp, that leak runs down the back of the motor the way yours sounds. Mine will vary from not leaking, a phantom odor, dripping, to pouring out w/ the heater valve closed. Looks like such a PITA I've been waiting to be forced to do it. Is that heater valve on the engine or firewall?

It is between two hoses on the back of the engine. It really isn't attached to anything, the two hoses hold it in position.
