there are stickers all over the car with the VIN. The stickers are perforated, so they cannot be transferred from one panel to another without a lot of work.
if a panel is replaced, the new panel will not have a vin sticker. if the owner of teh car takes the sticker off it cannot be replaced.
if a car has all the vin stickers, it is a pretty good indication that the panel is the same panel the car left the factory with.
if the sticker is missing, then look for other signs to see if the panel is teh same it left the factory with.
