I find the rear wheel well cubbys under the trunk carpet quite useful as well. I have one 250W MTX amp on one side and a Sony CD changer in the other. If you get one w/decent shock protection that will mount sideways, should be no problemos. Mine never skips. The amp fits in perfect w/a little room to spare.
