Default Track Ride height/alignment suggestions

The car is ready to be height adjusted, then aligned and corner ballanced.
87 944 turbo
RE control arms with 1" geometry correcting pins
Bilstein Escort cup Suspension 500F/600R
Deleted rear torsion bars
17" Wheels and Big reds up front
Track use only

What ride height should i shoot for, and how do i measure it?

Based on some searching here is what i have come up with for alignment:
Camber 3.5 deg front/ 2.5 deg rear
Toe: 0 front/ 1/8" total toe in rear
Front caster ????
Ride Height ???

Thanks,
Jon

What tires do you use? If its toyos they want max front caster. For ride height you want to try to keep the control arms close to parallel with the ground.

+1 on both accounts, use front control arms to set front right height, then measure distance from ground to highest point of front wheel wells. Then match rear ride height to front height, using the same measuring technique.

Be sure to check the rules for ride height in whatever club you plan to run with. Many clubs have a rule stating that no part of the body can be closer to the ground then the bottom edge of the wheel. This is so that if you get a flat tire and ride on the rim you will not be dragging body panels on the track.

We dont have a chosen tire yet. We are currently running some Corsa's that we got cheap, but i hate them. The tires will likely be Toyos, NIttos or something similar.

I'l see where the Control arm is level. Good call.

Thanks for the help.

I would sue the rockers to level the car as wheel arches are not always even size front to back. The rest of your alignment looks pretty good, you might need to make some changes once you actually drive the car and get to see how the tires are wearing and how the car handles.

Run the car as low as you can go. I run my NA at 4" from the ground to the rocker. I can't lower it more without risking bottoming the rear trailing arms.

One thing to consider is that I use 225/50 R15 tires. These are 1" shorter diameter than stock.

+1 and +1 on the tires

With the control arms u have there should be no ball joint issues ....

I have read that some sanctioning bodies use a figure of 12 " as a minimum ride hight from the front wheel hub center to the fender lip .

Hey Jason , i would still be interested in the red red front m030 springs if you still have them , as every little bit helps ......

Ten times to much camber and your going to want to adjust that front toe out. Make sure you get your weight distribution further back.

?? Camber may be a little high, but it's in the ball park (depending on what tires are run).
