Default FS: 1987 944 Turbo $7k

So I've been debating about doing this for a while, and the time has come to list my baby . It has been very very good to me for the time that I have had it and I want to thank Rock for helping me with it, if it wasn't for him this Turbo would not be alive today. I'm looking to get something that- isn't older than me, bigger, working a/c. I have my eye on a few things and would like to sell this before I go back to school so I have time to find the new car.

1987 Porsche 951, 104k Miles, Satin Black Metallic with Linen, Very stock, Power Locks, Leather.
I am asking 7,000 for it. Make me an offer. It needs to go asap.

A little history of the car in post #6

The car's story...

Got it January '06 off of ebay as a non-running turbo. Jumped at it because of the condition and all of the records that it had. The previous owner had spent about 4k on the car, fixing it up and trying to pinpoint why it was not holding a charge. He put it on ebay to get rid of it since he was spending too much on it and was getting nowhere with its condition, all of this while he had recently gotten married.

Got it home and spent a few weeks looking everything over and got it running and wow it felt so different than my n/a that I was used to, like a little rocketship. I was in love. I had driven it around town for about a week before I decided to take it to my high school in late February, and that drive something was up. So that afternoon my dad attempted to take it to the dealer in northern va, right when he got on the highway the timing belt went and belt 3 valves. Thought this was weird since the tbelt went in it and belt all valves in '04 (sent to Lindsey Racing for a rebuild) and hadn't put on that many miles from then. The belt was shredded and ended up being that the tensioner was bad. So the car sat for months going to dealer to dealer to shop for estimates, and dad didn't want to pay those prices. So it sat some more until I met a Rennlist guy who helped (while my dad watched) put this car back together in October '06 while I was away at school. I didn't start driving it consistently until I went back to school for my spring semester in '07. From then on everything was pretty smooth, some bumps in the road but nothing major. Then I started having problems with the battery, the same problem that the po had. I would be driving along and if i stopped to go somewhere and started him back up he wouldn't start. But if i moved and wiggled the battery cables fiercely it would start back up just fine. This was very random and didn't happen that often. Then it got worse and worse until my Rennlist friend figured out it was the cables that was causing the problem, as they were getting very hot. So they were changed in April of this year and it has solved the problem! This car has been very well maintained, and since I saw my Rennlist friend every week it got looked at and worked on every time he was around.

So since I have been home from school it maybe goes out once a week to run errands, and it really deserves more than that. I will be heading back to Roanoke at the end of August and I want whats best for the car, I think it would be best if someone else took it over.

Whoever buys this car will not be disappointed. If anyone is interested please make me an offer!! Please pm me.

What are the two wires coming out of the cubby going to the shifter? What caused the dent in the airbag areas (3rd to last pic)?

The wire that you are seeing coming out of the cubby is the ipod hookup. The dent was caused by an angry lister on here who decided to punch the dash and leave a nice dent in it (thanks Rock).

This is a great candidate for some TLC. This car well deserves it- I hope it goes to a loving home soon!

The center wheel caps add so much weight you have to ditch them!
