OK I did the search, and didn't find what I was looking for..
This is for a VW super bug project for my son, we are looking to do a "German Look" bug.
the germans are building VW super bugs with 2.5L type 4 engines (914, VW bus) and Porsche wheels brakes and suspension.
For the rear suspension they swap in 944 trailing arms, But, I have found very little info on the arms they use. What I am looking for is any information on rear arm track, I need to find arms with a narrow track to stay under the stock fenders. Has anybody here done this? or know anything about the swap?
so that brings me to the question. how many choices are there for trailing arms. and what are the width measurements? I need to stay with the 5 bolt wheel, so 931,924S,944,951 are the choices as far as I can tell.
I'm looking for the measurement from the outer bushing to the surface on the disk the wheel will bolt to, so I can calculate where the wheel will be in the fender well.
The end result we are looking for is 7" or 8" Phone dials under stock fenders.

Use the early steel arms, then, - any 924/931/944 from 76-85... much narrower track than later '44's. Sorry, no measurements handy...

you know..i answered your question before...on the first time you asked..but oh well. having done that swap and told you what you need...just ask again
they do NOT use the arms..just the hub/brake section that UNBOLTS from the 944 arm and BOLTS on a beetle trailing arm and reuses the sme beetle axle assmbly

Nice, what did you do for the fronts? we will be swapping to front disc also, but the super bug disc conversions are smaller than the 944 rears, what is involved in 944 front X-over? Do the 944 rotors fit super bug spindles? or will 944 spingles fit the bug
