Default Need inexpensive 944 mechanic in South Bay, Calif

I have a '84 944 that needs a new clutch job and some other work. Want to get it fixed for cheap, otherwise must get rid of it. Can't/don't want to spend $4K on a $3K car.
Anyone know of a inexpensive mechanic (doesn't need to be ex-Porsche shop man) in South Bay area of So.Cal who can do basic work on my 944?
I know of the usual 'good' Pcar wrenches here (Callas, Precision,Ottos, DutchTreat, etc), but I can't spend $90/hr for labor on this car.
thanks

Hopefully you will find what you need for less but $90/hr is a normal rate plus parts markup. It won't come to $4K but it won't be cheap either. Count on paying at least $800 in parts and $900-$1K on labor from even the cheapest shop; more like $2200-$2500 would be the norm. Just make sure they know what they are doing first.

Our 944 Spec mechanic is Art at Auto Point Motors in Richmond. You can contact him at (510)232-0000 for an estimate. Probably a little bit further than you'd like but we all highly recommend him for both price and quality workmanship.

That's what I was afraid of.
Will probably sell 'as is', or part it out (sounds time consuming).

Just sell it to someone who can do the work. The earlies aren't worth parting and they make good track candidates. Not only that, but it seems like too many are being parted these days.
