Default Testing my power antenna?

I think everything's hooked up okay, but the power antenna won't go up when the stereo turns on, and I'm scratching my head.

Now, I remember reading somewhere about the power antenna and how to replace it, but I can't seem to find it using SEARCH, neither here nor on clarks-garage.com.

The fuse is fine, the white wire is attached to the appropriate wire on my head unit, and the antenna is plugged into the antenna wire on my head unit. The black wire from the antenna (I believe it's from the antenna) is attached to Ground Point #1 behind the fuse/relay boxes.

What I'll do tomorrow is check if voltage is present on the head unit wire that attaches to the white antenna wire. If I have voltage present, I'd assume the "red" wire that attaches to the antenna (from the fusebox) isn't okay.

But how do I get to that wire?

Thanks,

Nick

Okay...the head unit is sending voltage to the white antenna wire. The black wire is grounded. I don't know if the red wire is attached to the power antenna.

Could someone point me to info about removing/installing power antennas on a 1983-ish 944?

Thanks,

Nick

I'm looking in the workshop manual, Vol. 4, now.

If you have factory manuals you should be ok. Just find out where antenna wires go for sure.
You can test the antenna by connecting it to the battery.
