Default Would this be possible (968 rear seats) Pics

I don't like the look of my rear seats, and I don't like the look of just carpet there. I like the 968 storage cubbies, and might be doing those. But I like these 968 style rear seats. Would I be able to do these? All I would have to do is buy the bottom seats, cover the middle with carpet, and buy a black upper seat. Of course the upper seats wouldn't be slit in the middle like that, it would just be a regular upper seat. Is this do-able?

yeah, it should be...in fact, you might even be able to find a split rear seat from a late 944 to fit to your car...they're somewhat rare, but every now and again one shows up for sale. Alternatively, dcauto.com seems to have a pretty wide selection of seats, but their prices are pretty high for rare/unusual parts

Hurm... I've never seen one. Do you know where I could find a picture of them?

try searching here for "split rear seat" I think

I seem to recall someone posting pictures of a wrecked 89 944 that they were parting that had the split rear seat option.

Will do. I can't seem to find the rear bottom seats from a 968. You think they are the same from a 1990's 911?

Or, would there be a way to get the upper to be split to?

not sure about any more info on the 968 rear seat. I believe that some came with seats that were just like the 944's...A buddy of mine has a 968 that has a 944-style back seat, but I haven't seen it in a while (and never really looked at the back seat much anyway haha) so my memory of back seat might be off

Huh...... intresting. Well, would it look stupid with split bottom seats, and non-split upper?

I don't konw...I'm looking at the picture you posted and tring to imagine the seatback as a solid piece. I think that it would look alright, but it's tough to say for sure. Do you know what kind of front seats you would get to go with this? If you go with something like this, I would imagine that you would want to get 968 or 993 seats that are patterned similar to how that rear seat is designed. I could see it coming out really nicely

Yea, i'm trying to vision it too, lol. Can you say, Photoshop? Lol. Well i've got the newer style 944 seats, (electrical and everything), so it should all go togather pretty well. If not, when I get the seats redone, I can always changed the pattern.

Unless you want to cut into the body and fab up some method of mounting the center pivot point, split seats won't be possible.

Some have brought it up, but it'd be quite a bit of work.

Early 968s had the exact same interior as 951s. I don't know what year they made the switch, but they switched to the 993 style seat. Not sure if the 993 seat bottoms are the same. I remember asking in a FS thread and someone told me that they wouldn't work.
