Post Steering wheel spacers

Anyone have any experience with these on an early 944. I think the 944 is one of the most comfortable cars ever, but if I could get the wheel a little bit closer it would be much nicer.

That's the trouble with long legs and short arms.

If you have a MOMO or Sparco wheel you could get a spacer from MOMO that will move the wheel roughly a half inch closer to you. You could even use two I would guess to bring it that much closer. Remember that you are only moving the wheel and not the control stalks. You will no longer be able to work the stalks with your hands firmly on the wheel anymore (or is so, just barely). I am using a spacer on the wheel in my G20 and it has taken some getting used to the stalks being that much farther away.

There is a long-hub steering wheel option - M018. I have one of each wheel, and the hub extension, unfortunately, does NOT fit the short-hub wheel, so the long wheel stays in despite its poorer condition.

M018 wheels show up on eBay on occasion, and I'm sure PartsHeaven or 944Ecology will have one.

i got a quic release steering wheel adapter for my car, and geo is rogh. it takes a while to get used to the stalks being farther away, but it took me about a week to stop reaching for them where they used to be. i got it because i had to spread my legs to the side other wise they would get in the way of the wheel. unfortunatly, i have thigh bolsters and my legs used to fall asleep. i was thinking about the extention, and realized it would be a bitch to get in and out of the car. (rollbar, seats, naturaly low car, etc.) now i must take the wheel off to get in and out of the car. it fun, and adds to the go cart on steriods feel!

oh by the way, i got mine for a little over a hundred bucks. fits momo sparco wheel patern, and the attachment in a hex, so it hard to put it on wrong. i have seen the one with the splines and they are a pain. i like the unit a lot and would recomd it if your looking for a spacer or quick release.

take care,
brian

Thanks guys I think I can live with the stalks being farther away (Long fingers to go with the long legs). Though I do like the easy flicking of the turns signal, but theres always reversing the process.

I personally like the splined adapters better. They have far less slop in them. They are more expensive however (but worth the extra money IMHO).

Any idea where to get those spline adapters? For some reason I think I would prefer those.

Check out these guys for long and adjustable adapters. The shorter adapters are available at any momo/sparco dealer.
