I had this problem before my rebuild and it is still there. My O/P and general idiot light flicker on and off when I come up to temp. My O/P is @ 2 bar at idle (warm) and does not fluctuate. This is just a bother as I know the O/P is OK. I am looking at the grounds and cleaned and re-torqued them all. I may have a dreaded dash ground problem as my Speedo and tach also stop working until I give it a tap on the dash.
I may pull the instrument cluster tonight, what should I look for or adjust or solder?

[quote] 2 bar is the minimum. at idle. Upon driving you should get near 5 or 4. Rebuild of what? how many miles? I would be concerned. bad oil pump?

The rebuild was total bottom end, crank, rod brgs, mains and a total reseal. The Porsche manual says " occasional flicker of the O/P light is normal? when at idle and .5 bar of O/P is not an indication of mechnical problems". I'm at 2 bar which is 1 bar more than prior to the rebuild. I have 4 to 6 bar when moving. The flicker is annoying at best as it will come on at 3 bar sometimes, but only when it is warmed up. I'm at 124000 miles now.
Is there a decient schematic out there to follow ?

I have the problem that mine constantly swings between the high and low bar. When it's cold, it will actually hit the side of teh gauge with the needle. This happened when I changed how it was grounded when I installed my air/fuel mixture gauge.

Check your email. I had similar problem and found that the ribbon connectors to the instrument cluster were not making good contact. Some of the pins in the ribbon connector were bent out and were not making good connections. Pull the cluster, take a close look at all the pins in the connectors, and use a sharp instrument to bend them back out.
