On my 86 944 Turbo, Driver's side door handle lever broke off. Its the part that you have to squeeze to open. Can I get this part only from Porsche or some place?? Or do I have to buy the whole door handle assembly??

The trigger breaks at the pivot. If you can't get a direct replacement same-side handle you can knock the pin out of another same-side handle and use the trigger. May have to use a custom length roll pin as a replacement and peen the ends.
There is another lever that is part of the handle that breaks. Are you sure it's the trigger?

Confirmed: lever is not available as separate part, you are heading towards a complete handle.
The door handle shows great resemblance with the early VW Golf / Rabbit types.
You may be able to get this handle from an dismantler and swap the lever.
As per SoCal: there are some plastic parts in the linkage known to fail (faster than the lever) so you might want to check this first.
