Default Textured Paint on Rocker Panel

I have a 1987 944S. What material is used to either spray on or paint on to the body surface to get the texture look under the door frame. I'm talking about the surface that surpresses stone dings? Is it something like the stuff used to paint on bed liners of pick up trucks?

The stuff is called rocker schutz and it goes on with undercoat spray gun. When I redid mine, I scraped the old off with a rasor, sanded it down to clean it up, and resprayed it.
