Default Need infor on 951 front splitter

Doing research on buying a front splitter for a project car. I assume there is more than one company selling them. I need one for street use. I would like it to be a bolt on operation, with doing a fab work. Which one do you guys use, and what is the web site to purchase it.

All the ones that I saw people using before were fiberglass ones. If you found one that was urethane or some type of soft plastic, please let us know...

thanks.

I am also interested. My batwing is in three pieces - it would be nice to replace it with a urethane splitter.

However, in the meantime if anyone reading this thread knows of a batwing for sale - in one piece and for reasonable $ - please let me know.

Thanks,
Scott

Basically 2 companies selling: AIR and GTRacing.

AIR is probably a little better aesthetically. GT gives you better ground clearence. GT you will have to drill some holes to mount (easy). I've heard some people with AIR's have them mounted in a fashion that makes you have to take the bumper off to un-attach. Probably isolated cases but I'd check around. I have the GT (flat splitter) and while I sometimes bottom out it has held up very well. AIR's supposedly bottom out often, again because they are lower, and if you read the Turbo board they'll tell you that you'll replace it fairly often. As with everything your results may indeed vary.

BTW, at least for the GT your batwing is replaced by the splitter. I'm pretty sure this is true for the AIR but I don't have one YET.

Yeah the AIR splitter goes back very far and is just in front of the drain plug I believe. Its a quality piece which as downforce and helps air flow under the car. Replaces the batwing.

AIR and GT are the only 2 mainstream splitters. Both require drilling and a little fitting. AIR is aesthetically better but GT offers the best ground clearance. For a street car that has to deal with anything other than a perfectly flat road (like driveways, speedbumps, and critters), the GT is the logical choice.

Both replace the batwing.

I maybe selling the AIR front splitter I bought on the group buy several months back (still in primer - never painted or installed on my car). Just pay what I got it for as it was discounted over the normal price.

Anyone know what AIR stands for? Google and Yahoo think it's some band from France. . .
