Question How to fix leaky Tranny?

The tranny side of my two CV/axles have oil/grease all over the place, as well as the sides of the tranny. I remember Perry mentioning about "seals" that can be replaced on the tranny. Are these seals similar to the balance shaft seals? Is it a simple job that can be done without going into the tranny? I assume the tranny fluid needs to be drained?

Thanks in advance.

Same type of seal as the balance shafts. Drain the tranny, to remove the axle, and then the the 5mm Allen in the center of the stub axles. They'll pull right out of the tranny. Replace seal and put back together. Not hard at all...... but it is messy!

Tom.... I think you are correct. Could not remember for sure when I posted. Thanks... it would suck to get it all apart and not have the right allen socket!

Do one side at a time. If you pull out both axle hubs at the same time, something inside the tranny can get messed up.
